His father brought him his first kart and he started karting when he was 12 years old.

Heinz-Harald Frentzen won the German Junior Kart Championship in 1981 when he was 14 years old.

He drove the Bahrain race in the Speedcar Series of the 2007/2008 season in April 2008.

For Aston Martin Racing, Heinz-Harald Frentzen raced the 24 Hours of Le Mans as he drove one of the 2 factory Aston Martin DBR9s with Karl Wendlinger and Andrea Piccini in the GT1 class. The team finished 4th in class and 16th overall.
